Screentryck vs Vinyltryck

What is screen printing?

Screen printing is a classic method where stencils, called screens, are used to apply layers of ink to a material. Each color requires a separate screen, making it ideal for larger productions. The method produces strong and vivid colors, especially on dark garments.

What is vinyl printing?

Vinyl printing means that motifs are cut out of textile vinyl and then heated onto the garment using a heat press. It's fast and flexible, perfect for smaller runs or simple motifs with few colors. Vinyl is available in different variants such as glitter, metallic and reflective for unique design possibilities.

Screen printing vs Vinyl printing

  • Editions: Vinyl is best for small runs (1-15 garments), while screen printing is more efficient for larger productions (20+ garments).
  • Design: Vinyl suits simple motifs with few colors, screen printing is perfect for detailed designs with multiple colors.
  • Durability: Both methods last a long time if the garment is cared for correctly.
  • Time consumption: Vinyl is faster to set up, screen printing is faster at large volumes.

Care advice for printed t-shirts

  • Wash inside out to protect the pressure.
  • Avoid tumble drying – hang drying is best.
  • Vinyl print: Wash in warm water with mild detergent.
  • Screen printing: Wash in cold water to maintain the colors.

Which method should you choose?

If you need a few t-shirts with simple designs, choose vinyl prints. For larger volumes or detailed designs, screen printing is a better option. Need help choosing? Contact us then we will guide you!
